After graduating from Montgomery Bell Academy and Vanderbilt University, Frank Floyd held jobs in marketing, finance, and sales. The latter brought him to California where he was introduced to the concept of custom closets. A woodworker by hobby and entrepreneur at heart, Frank decided, in 1984, to take the leap and bring the concept to the Southeast. While working his day job, Frank began to build his business in his spare time. It didn’t take long for him to establish himself. By 1986, he owned 5 Closet Companies throughout the South. As his children, Carey and Adam, were born and grew, he decided that family was his priority. He sold 4 of the 5 locations and focused his energy on his business in Nashville. What began on a sales trip to California turned into a 35-year journey, bringing an entire industry to the Southeast.
Adam Floyd, Frank’s son, has grown up a woodworker. As a young boy, he would join his dad in the shop where his imagination could run wild. After graduating from MBA and Belmont, and graduate school at the University of Arkansas, he enjoyed a career in real estate and started a family of his own. Like his dad, he wanted to spend time with his family, and to own his own business. In 2018, he purchased The Closet Company from his father. As a second-generation owner, Adam stays true to The Closet Company roots and adheres to the same principles that guided his father and the business from day one. A fiercely independent company in a franchised industry, The Closet Company offers custom closets, pantries, home offices, garages and more that are of the highest quality available and the best price. With no franchise overhead and no predetermined corporate philosophy, The Closet Company lands comfortably in a niche all its own. The Closet Company owns its own 6,500 square foot manufacturing facility and showroom in Berry Hill/100 Oaks, Nashville. Our employees average 12 years with the company and are equipped with the experience and tools to ensure your installation goes as planned.
The Closet Company has been building custom solutions for its clients in Middle Tennessee for over 35 years, and look forward to an opportunity to work with you.
